Body-image disturbances have been one of the most thoroughly studied areas in relation to eating disorders. Some of the tasks designed to assess them have estimated specific parts of the body, while others have made overall estimations of body size. In recent years, the introduction of computing procedures has permitted a combination of the two approaches and has facilitated their application.
